The Lauridsens - Meeting my husband

It was at this time that-I met my- husband Albert-Klingbeil from Wetaskiwin. We were married in June of 1959, and took over Mrs. Clara Kirk's Variety store across from the hotel. One thing sticks in my mind, it was my phone number -10-. We lived in the basement and one morning awoke to sounds of animal hooves. I had a whole herd of cattle in my back yard.

I belonged to the Royal Purple Ladies on the drill team. We were the Charter Group at Wildwood. We had many enjoyable evening company, and we assisted the Elks Club at whatever their projects were.

Our first son Kelly was born in 1962. When he was 10 months old, we moved to Edson as Albert began to work at the A. G. T. exchange there. Here our second son Murray was born in 1963. We met many fine friends in Edson too.

In 1965 we moved to Hinton where we still reside and call our home now. Life has always treated us wonderful here and our friends and neighbours are like family to us. Our third son Gary was born in 1969 and our daughter Melanie was born in 1971.

I must say that I sincerely admire my parents and all their neighbours who worked so hard, to build and improve our area, so that life is so much easier for all of us to live now.
We celebrated our 50th anniversary with our family in Wildwood on October 18th, 1981. Fred and Jane Miller attended also. Fred, my brother was best man at our wedding in Edmonton. On November 4th, our actual anniversary, our friends in Haney, B. C. gave us a lovely anniversary supper and then we had nice visits with friends who called on us at our home in Mission, B. C.
